the HUD was offered on a GXE only. You're rocking the SE. for the HUD to work you'll probably need the digital speedo also.
you have the digital speedo also? it didn't really pick up because there were a lot of glitches and electrical problems with the HUD.

did they machine a new throttle plate after they bored out the TB and intake?

first i would like to say.........i'm getting a 84-87 300zx turbo manifold to start , new for $230 from nissan..this will bolt right on so i can put on a turbo.....right now I have a garrett t-28 turbo.......and i thought if i listed what all i have someone would have the same or close to it....and could relate.....just seems crappy your first day on and all excited and all that happens is some one pics you apart......a guy at a local machine shop here in town bored out my throttle body and air intake to match......fabrication is not hard....as far as the heads up diplay -no wiring involved.....had to get the console and windsheild to match off of an 89 maxima that came with it..very rare...i found it( the car) in chesapeak virginia.....look it up in your OEM SHOP MANUELS....I have one and its in there......i don't feel i have to explain myself...i'm just proud of what i got and thought others would be to and tell me what they got and be cool. I will take pics of what i got......but I own my own pawn shop and am working by myself right now from 9 am to 9 pm and i'm only closed on tuesdays...and i don't plan on taking pics of my ride till tuesday which is my only day off. I do have photos from the beggining untill now of what i have done and during so i'll have a photo journal of it...I can scan the pics i have so far so you all can see...but all of this will not happen till tuesday the 13th on my terms k ! =)

anywho... i still can't seem to get a freekin Nismo catalog even for any car, so.... i still doubt that this stuff exists too....

Even then its probably just stock stuff with NISMO stickers on it....

could just be a better made radiator. calsonic makes our radiators i believe so maybe its just one with metal end tanks or something. the nismo radiator probably is the radiator cap but... i could be wrong.

like Dan said, you'd need the main digital dash controller at least to control the HUD. Unless you got crazy and did some good circuit design to give the HUD all the AC signals it needs. I've looked into it a lot before and it's not something you just plug into the analog gauges. The closest thing to an easy HUD I've found (from Nissan) would be the 240sx setup that uses a separate controller for the HUD. I believe you could get that part, power, ground, speed sensor inputs (might have to adjust them a little) and it might work.

The only reason I'm jumping on this is because I've looked into it and know it is not something that has 'no wiring involved'


if you've got all the stuff you claim, that's awesome and congrats. We just hear these claims all the time but then it turns out fake so you need to prove us wrong.

 

it may have came from a canadian maxima. i see tonnes of of 3rd gens with the digital dash around here. the wiring for hud and digital dash is a different story. i too would like to see how that happened.
the problem is that so many people come through here claiming lots of mods. 99% of these people are full of bs. some of the long time members here have been seeing this happen for at least 3 years and they're tired of it. i can understand how they feel to a certain extent. i've been here for a couple of years now and i see a lot of this myself.
anyways,
the parts do exist, just not for our cars. if you were able to find these nismo parts and get them working in your 89 maxima, you deserve a standing ovation. but like everyone says here, the proof is in the pics. and people here have some sharp eyes so the photochop crap won't pass the bar.

i hope you aren't lying for the sake of our communtiy here. it would be great to have plenty of new performance parts for our rides.

well i've dona alot of looking and working on my ride blood sweat and tears......the story here is this.....I have a cousin greg f. who is a christian missionary in japan, we share an interest in cars......he ran across a guy who races skylines..he uses alot of nismo stuff....greg did some talking to him for me and gave me his # he speaks very ruff english....lol really funny to talk to...anyway......greg comes home once a year to visit the family and when he comes he brings somethings for me from ishi saves me shipping...lol and i just custom mod this stuff in my car .....well me and my dad anyway.....he's been a mechanic for like 30 yrs so.......ya anyway......thATS WERE I GET MY NISMO PARTS =)

Jees, even I can't wait til tuesday. This is psyching me up. I can't help but fall into the skeptic tank with the rest of the .orgers, but I believe in benefit of the doubt as well.

And please, for the photo shoot please take more than one pic. Exterior (tails trunk rims), Engine bay with atleast a good closeup on this upgraded cooling system/nismo radiator and other mentionables, Interior including your HUD/digital dash. Heck even show us what you got lined up for your turbo, we'll be looking forward.

If you're legit, don't lose hope. There are a lot of very respected, certified and talented maxima veterans in here which are full of information so long as you ask nicely.

A t28 will be to small. You will be better suited with a GT30R. You will make a lot of power with that turbo, and still spool it early. Nitrous and Nitro are 2 different things. Nitro methane is commonly referred to as Nitro, while Nitrous Oxide is referred to as Nitrous. Nitro methane is extremly volitile and will certainly blow your motor literally apart.

 

yeah i was wondering about the "NITRO" claim also and i assume he ment nitrous

i say the same about the t28. i wouldnt bother with it. at least get a t3 off a 300zx thats what mtcookson is using and it seams to work fine

also is your car an auto or stick

if stick your going to need a new clutch because your stocker will start slipping

if auto youll need a "biult tranny" because the stock trans will die very shorly after you install the turbo considering it wont even hold up to normal driving conditions
