damn..i just drove around the block and went to park at a local restaurant..as im reversing for parking i noticed that my car is stuck in reverse...no matter what i do its their...it starts and drives fine in reverse but i cant even get it to neutral..177k on the car and the trans seems to have been replaced cause theirs yellow ink written on it like its from the yard..any ideas.. i know that these trannies are hydro..could it be my throw out bearing stuck?

 

Hmm, well, I have run into something similar. My friends sentra would only go into 5th and reverse. And it was his Shift linkage in his tranny had exploded (never knew how to drive anyway).

I'd hate to say it, because I'm not too sure. But I think one of your linkages could have broken in such a way to lock your car in reverse.
