Let me apologize in advance for this basic question (more to follow..)but I just wanted to be sure I get the best possible intake for my '93 SE.

Is a CAI the best available commercial intake setup out there? Or is there something else I haven't heard about yet?
because I'm planning on getting the Place Racing CAI. <-- Good choice, bad choice??

Also, Is a CAI easy to install?

Thanks for any advice, comments.

You got it.

Best place to get it new is Cattman. If you wanna try for used, post in the ForSale/Wanted section, or try ebay.

Luck.

As Randall said, Cattman ( http://www.cattmanperformance.com ) is the place of choice.

They are $215 + shipping.

Install isn't difficult if you have a brain and some tools. you will need either a 3.5" hole saw or a jigsaw also. you have to cut a hole in the fender well just behind the battery. not that bad, but you do have to pay attention.
that's about it.

Place Racing CAI

check out Place Racing's homepage for their phone #. then call them and order it direct....if cattman is charging you 215 than they have bumped up the price. I believe that if you get it directly from PR with shipping the cost is under 200.

PR CAI

Yeah, sometime back in April I called them and they quoted me approximately $185 plus shipping which was under $20 i believe. I didn't have the funds to get it then, had to deal with the dreaded VTC plague of the VE. Maybe they raised their prices since or they gave me a wrong quote. Either way, i'd definately try them first.

Just talked to both Place Racing and Cattman.

Place is charging 220 for Red, Yellow and blue (they're outta blue) colored CAI's. 226 for silver.

Cattman is only $215 for silver.

I just put my order in!

As far as I know, it's the slowest Maxima on the road.
