Car broken into

Well i walked out to my car this morning and noticed my driver door's window missing. The locks have been pulled up but they never opened the door, so the factory alarm never went off. However the gas flap was open, in an attempt to open the trunk to get my subs i guess. But its all there and nothing has been stolen. Thanks Nissan for putting the trunk opener in a inconspicuous area. Now, how hard is it to replace the glass in the drivers door?

i ran to the junk yard this morning and picked up a window for 50 bucks and installed it myself, then ran to the tint shop and had it retinted. Looks like nothing ever happened. i disabled my trunk opener button incase the figure out were it is and want to come back.

It took me a little while to find my trunk opener when i first got my car.

You're lucky that they didnt really mess up your car other than the window. Someone broke into a bunch of cars at my school, and they couldnt get someones stereo so they slashed all his seats and broke every peice of trim they could.

I had the same experience about 10 days ago, passenger side smashed in, but the alarm was going off. i did an online parts request for the window and after the emails started flooding in i found one place that low-balled the rest for 38$ shipped, the part was here 3 days later. i did find that the window trim was bent a bit and the outer seal isn't snug anymore. a little bit of damage from a failed attempt to pop the lock using a slim jim.

anyway - fill out a few parts request forms online and sit back and watch them low-ball each other, you'll be suprised how easy and cheap it is. the window is incredibly easy to install as well... just make sure you get all the broken glass out of everything... i keep finding it imbedded EVERYWHERE: air vents, seat belts, carpetting, leather, parking brake tray, etc.
good luck

Doesn't sound like you did too bad. I was broken into a few years ago...on my birthday!! And guess what I had installed as a birthday gift just 3 days earlier. Ahh shizen...nevermind, too agonizing to repeat.
Makes me wonder if the installer (knowing my address) had someone stop by and reclaim the stuff I bought from him. Bet it happens all the time.

Hey aw89maxSE, did you tint those tails from the outside? And what happened to your body kit?

glad it worked out for ya...how did you disable the trunk opener? you gotta do it by taking the door panel off and disconnecting it or do you do it through the trunk?

It is very simple there is no need to take off anything. It is located right under the latch on the car (not the trunk itself) Just flip that switch wither up or down and that should disengage the trunk switch. Very easy of us and that much hard for those F$#@ERS that try to rip off us honest people who work ahrd for our stuff.

For those who do rip off people my theory goes.....shoot them first and then ask questions. if they can't answer your questions.....then too bad so sad.

My brother has a '91 Regal and he spent and arm and leg getting a sweet-butt security system in to protect his audio gear. He had the shop put a pressure switch in the trunk to go off when it is armed and the trunk is opened. His car doesn't even have a trunk release, so good luck you stealing bastards.
