Hi all,
My 89 Nissan's radio/stereo systems has been giving me many problems.

#1. Left Rear speaker seems to be out.
#2. Initially, only one the remaining three speakers fires. Then suddenly two/three fire.
#3. I get decent radio but very poor cassette play.
#4. This started happening recently. After playing a few minutes the radio goes kaput. The stations stored everything gets erased. Now, it does not go kaput if play the cassette player (only i get very poor audio)

The stereo/radio is clarion. The label is a bit worn off!! but i think the model number is PN92101.

Any sort of tips,info welcome.

Thanks for your time.

Vadi.

Kill it NOW

I suggest that you just get a new system! I'm sure that that unit is so Old that it's not worth a dime. The speakers are most likely the original BLOSE! which suck, so I would completely overhaul the system if I were in Your Shoes.....

hmm... if its not bose, you should be able to just get a new head unit (150 bucks its worth it, then you get cd!) and the speakrs will work with that. you may need to get an adapter, but that shouldnt be to bad. Nexy step is to replace the speakers, which m in the process of doing, and lemme tell you... WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MAKES. i just bought speakers for the back for 55 bucks each, kenwoods ordered off line, and im very pleased with them. go to http://www.stereoliquidators.com/ they have good prices and service. late

I just assisted a friend of mine with a '92 SE that had the Bose. She had to yank out the entire system and change the speakers since each speaker has its own separate amplifier.
Right now, she has an Eclipse Head unit (like I do ) but she has Rockford Fosgate 4" speakers with the swivel tweeter and Eclipse 6x9s. Like Brandon said, it makes a huge difference in sound quality and staging.

In my case, I have the non-Bose (Thank God!) system and I just had my Eclipse installed. Even with the stock speakers, the Eclipse sounds really good. With the additional stuff I am planning for my system, it will sound niiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
