strut bar...stuck bolt!
god damnit, everytime I go to do something simple with my car, the very last bolt wont budge!!! I have sprayed wd 40 on it for 30 minutes and I have even been usin a pry bar for more leverage and all I am doing is slowly stripping the bolt...I stopped now because I don't wanna strip it...you think I would be able to take my car to a mechanic and maybe have them just pop it free for me? or you think someone would try to charge me? anyone got tips on how I can get this bolt off?

yea, i nearly stripped one of my strut tower nuts when i put on my FSTB.. i was using a 12 point socket and stripped some corners off the nut, then i changed to a hex socket instead, and it was kinda hard to put onto the nut becase the corners are all messed up by the 12point. so i hammered it in and turned it with a foot long rachet and it came off...
everything else was fine after getting off that particular nut.

12 point sockets are a waste of money in anything besides aerospace where they actually have 12 point fasteners.
I'm of the opinion that if you got a set of 12 points, you NEED to go buy a real socket set.

Ironically, the Craftsman 14mm deep socket I bought was 12 point. I didn't even notice until after I bought it. Gross.

Just wait until you have to use a 8 point in a really tight spot with a ratchet or breaker bar. I prefer 8 points when I can use them but sometimes you can get the 8 point to clock right in order to turn it.

I like 12pt's. I've never had a decent quality one strip a bolt and they are really handy in tight spots. I still use 6pts for the most part, but there isnt a reason to hate 12pts.

someone hasn't see the end caps on alot of v8 chebbies then eh?
ARP uses 12 point because their products are from an aerospace background.
