2 questions, one thread.

just wanted to keep the forum free of clutter and crap, so i just merged these unrelated Q's into one. first off, im having an issue with being forced to remove the bottom left fuse on my interior fuse block before i can start my car. its the one that controls the power seat belts/windows and some other things i believe. this problem happened about 6 months ago, then went away, and i just recently put a new battery in along when doing all my exhaust/front end work and it was fine for a couple days then came back yesterday. any kind of insight on why the hell its doing this?? the biggest problem with getting electrical work done on a car by the dealership or and mechanic shop is that theres always a chance they dont even fix what you took the car in for and your out a couple hundred bucks.
secondly, i skimmed through about 12 pages yesterday trying to find some related problems, but its a ***** with dialup and i wasnt getting anywhere anyway, so i was wondering what the symptoms of a bad o2 sensor are. i just redid my exhuast from front to back but put the original back in, and when i let off the gas at highway speeds(45-60) the car will like fluctuate from 1500 rpms to 1800, and it'll repeat that 1-3 times until it finds its bearings and smooths out. also, there's been a couple times where ive fully pressed the accelorator and it'll kind of sit there for a minute, no actual car acceleration at all, and then it will kick in. The o2's gonna get replaced on my next paycheck regardless, im just curious if this will fix the problem at hand as well.

its really hard diagnosing an electrical problem on a car...especially when they happen sparaticly...im goin to school for auto mechanics and i had a car come in the other day...the lady said the interior lights didnt work...but when i pulled the car in they worked fine...sorry i just had to defend all the mechanics out there...and sorry i cant help u with your problem

i think a sign of bad o2 sensor is bad gas mileage. im not sure about rpm problems though

yea i do know its hard to diagnose electrical stuff if its sparatic and comes and goes, thats why i was trying to see if anyone has actually experienced a problem right along the lines of this before, so i can at least make the attempt to repair it myself prior to sending it to a shop.

new problem today... my car when in park is idling at TWO THOUSAND rpms, insanely high number and it really has me worried. when in neutral and in gear its idle is normal, only thing ive tried is giving my throttle cable a little tug because my car had sat for a few months without being driven and it seemed to get stuck.

1500 is normal if you live in cold weather, and sometimes after long drives. I dont know about TWO THOUSAND though.

have u tried to pull codes off the ecu.. bad gas mileage and poor acceleration are signs of a bad o2.i would replace it regardless and be sure to disconnect the battery before changing the o2..its hard a$$ hell to get off cause of the rust.
