Hey,

I had the same problem. I tried 1st w/o a FSM... Boy, what a mind f**k. I could probably give you a little advice though. Start by looking at the diagrams for the starter and the other ignition components. Find the two connectors you noted earlier. I believe you have a VE because the connectors are the same as mine were (7pin auto => 4pin manual). The VG is a little different. The main thing you want to do is find the p/n (park/nuetral) switch which becomes the n/s (neutra/safety) switch in the 5spd. This allows you to start an auto when it is only in park. It also says that you can only move the shift lever when your foot is on the brake. Basically, you just cut and splice the connectors to fool the switch into doing the same thing. However, now it only starts the car when it isn't in gear. I can't remember the exact colors of the wires needed off the top of my head. I do know that a brown and red wire of some sort is involved. Just make sure you remember that the wires don't necissarily connect if they match. Look at the diagrams before you connect anything. If your not careful you'll run out of length on the wires and need to hack up your wiring harness.

Also, try a few of the other diagrams....

(1) Fold outs in back of FSM
(2) Reverse/Tail lights (for Reverse light rewire)
(3) ASCD (Automatic Speed Control Devise/Cruise Control) for ASCD cancel switch on the clutch pedal
(4) Diagrams in the section for "MT" and "AT".... manual trans and auto trans respecitvely
(5) Anything else you can think of related to your problem... remember, the FSM isn't organised the way you'd think. Use it like a phone book till you figure it out

I'll try to get back to my work on a write up asap. Check my site for it in a week or so. PM me w/any other questions...

Gook Luck,

Matt

P.S... You'll need it

BTW, i just realised my FSM also lists diagrams for GXE's. In '94 they put the SE and GXE in the same FSM. So, I could probably help ya through the ORG. Let me know. Also, I'll proably be in south Florida in a week or so. Hit me up if ya need a hand on the ride or if ya wanna cruise the strip.
