uh..limited-slip differential?
I doubt it's as easy as you think tossing out an lsd tranny for a non-lsd one. Besides, why on earth would you want to do that??
Either rebuild the one you have or replace the tranny with a used one with relatively low miles on it.

Replacing the axle isn't as bad as it seems. They cost about $50-60 at oreilly auto parts, with a core exchange. Then have someone put it in for you for another $50 and you're good to go.

look at the tranny code on the firewall. if it ends in A, then it's a non-limited slip. If it ends in V, then it's got the viscous limited slip differential in it. (VLSD for short).
