Hazard Switch! The Bane Of My Existence.

I'm sure we've all had to wrangle with this little bugger at some point in ownership. The engineers at Nissan got so many things right about this car, why didn't they provide enough slack to re-install the hazard switch without having to grow two more knuckles to get your hand in there to keep it in place?
The method I've been using to plug it back in when re-installing the HVAC trim piece is to hold it with a pair of pliers, but it takes several tries and I always feel like I'm pulling too hard on the (very short) wires.
Has anyone come up with a better way to do this? I know it seems like a small thing, but that little switch can turn a 15-minute job into a 45-minute ordeal.

Yes it is short but If you install the radio trim and leave it just barly tillted out then connect its not that bad.

I just leave it plugged in and rotated the whole trim piece out of my way.
and when that got annoying I just unplugged the harness.

when putting it all back together i plug in the hazard switch first. i just put my fingers behind the switch and push them together. its never really been all that hard for me.

same here. never had any problems with it. I've worked on at least a dozen different 3rd gens back there and never had a problem with that switch.

When my radio was stolen they pulled the wires out a lot when they took off the trim. Now there is a lot of slack in the hazard switch wires. Guess they did me a favor. Maybe you can pull on them to give you more slack.

yeah give a couple good pulls and it loosens up the wires a bit. ive taken apart my dash about 198742897623746 times so now its real easy and fairly loose never been much of a problem

yeah I had to change my dash pad as I had the ugly brown in there and I wanted to change my interior to black and IIRC the plug harness is clipped to the dash pad or plastic in there to hold the harnness in place thats why its tight.
