Speed Sensor Question on 91 Maxima SE

It seems to the speed sensor on my 91 SE is dead, its output voltage is 0.1V, rather than 0.5 V per repair manule.

I tried to remove it from the transmission, however after I took off the screw, I was only able to remove the wire with its plug from the sensor.

Can anyone with experience tell me whether this speed sensor is threaded or not? Should I simply force it to remove?

Appreciate any replies.

No it is not threaded you just have to force it. My suggestion would be that you try to turn it before you pull on it.

Thanks

Thanks, DigitalDashMax. I'll give it a try. Maybe I just need to rock it a bit harder.

Follow up to my post

Just follow up for the findings on my speed sensor.

After pulled out the speed sensor with a plier, I measured its output voltage while turning it. It's low. Then I pulled out its rubber cap (the one with two wires attached) and cleaned up those metal fingers inside the cap. After plug it back in place, and measured its output voltage again. Boom, its running between 0.5 and 0.9V, good enough!!

After putting the sensor back, my speedo has been running fine so far.
