I've been having this recurring problem for the last two weeks or so. When i'm driving my 93 SE cold it runs great, picks up like a rocket... once the car has been running and movin around for a while (maybe 10-15 mi) its terribly sluggish when i hit the gas, where i would usually hear reving i hear an odd chirping sound comin from under the car near the 02 sensor, once the car makes it ouf of first the chirp usually goes away and the car accelerates normally until i come to another stop. Took it to the mechanic twice, he thinks i'm imaging things... anybody got a guess?

 

tried searching yet? there is a ton of info about this problem, check the stickies too.

 

Sounds like your describing the "heat soak" issue with the ve motor. could be the knock sensor or vtc failure .In my case it was a little of both. There is lots of info. on both problems in the stickies and in the forum.

What's the difference between the harness and sub-harness? I thought only the portion that goes from the knock sensor to the plug just outside of the block is the problem.

you cant come up with 20 bucks? how do you pay for gas? its only $1 a year and it will last you 20 years. I can assure you in two years of being on here you will save hundreds of dollars with the info on this site and with the info these members have. In fact I bet you could improve your gas milage and save that 20 bucks in a few tankfulls.
