Yzza1?
Yzza1?
I went to Toyota yesterday to get the YZZA2 filter. They had ran out of stock, but suggested a YZZA1 filter instead. They told me it's supposed to be an update for the YZZA2, being slightly longer to make for easier access, and slightly more capacity, but at the same time having the same flow characteristics, anti drainback valve, and mount as the YZZA2. I got the thing, and compared it to the YZZA2 I took of the car during the oil change, and from the outside they are exactly the same except for the length. After changing the oil I found I did use slightly more oil, which is good, as the OEM filter is larger capacity.

Oohh, nice find. It threaded on easily? I just bought 6 YZZA1s, oh well.
Yeah that's what I've found about the A2 as well, and when I was giving the A1 it's final turn with the wrench I found the access a bit easier. That splash guard is in the way and makes it hard to get the wrench in there.
It threaded on just as easy as the A2, and the diameter is the same. I can't compare that to OEM as I've never had an OEM filter for it. There was some FRAM POS on there when I got the car last March, that's why I went for the A2 initially. We'll see how it goes over the course of this oil change, but my money's on the A1. Glad to hear you guys like them too.
