sohc vg30 turbo off a 84-89 300zx turbo on a gxe sohc?

i was just wondering sense my 1990 gxe has a sohc vg30 just like the older single turbo 300zx, could i strip the turbo and exaust headers off a 300zx single turbo and transfer them to my 1990 gxe. i may need to do a little exaust modifications and intake modifications due to it being a fwd setup instead of a rwd setup like the 300s and having different intake manifolds. also can i run all external electronics(boost control and turbo timer) and keep all my stock engine electronics. or would i have to switch out ecus and mas air flow electronics. any info would be greatly appriciated thanks.

that's the way i did it. you could also modify the motor mount if you wanted to. either way should work out pretty well. i was just scared to leave the turbo where it was since it was so close to the radiator so i had it relocated.

i think you might also need to get a slim fan setup if you fab the motor mount but i'm not positive since i didn't take that route.

i would probably want to mount it in the front area behind the radiator with the air side of the turbo out near fans and the exaust side near the manifold, you only hook the turbo up to one manifold correct? this would allow me to have a shorter air tube if put the air filter behind the radiator off to one side. i would still have to relocate the maf sensor and probably run longer hoses to aac valve and other hoses. i was just thinking about doing this project this winter when i have some time off, need to check with a few junk yards...

both manifolds are running to the turbo. the rear manifold goes to a crossover pipe which runs over the transmission to the front manifold. the turbo is bolted directly to the front manifold and runs parallel to the engine.

this is what the turbo would look like in the maxima. had to make a motor mount to for it all to fit but that's not the current design i'm using. i relocated the turbo as previously stated

lol... i didn't even notice that. that's the 10 dollar hacked wiring harness that i got that came from a 300zx turbo. i was attempting to use the Z ecu and such but... that wasn't too good of an idea.

the Z project is going to have a lot more wires though
