Hey all, I came up with a crazy idea on my way to school today (crazier still considering that it was snowing!), that I would love to have a sunroof put in my Max. Anyone know of a kit, or something that could help? I have a 94 GXE, so that you know. Anyone who has done this, if you could give me a tip, that would be awesome.

I believe the estimate is around $300 - $700 depending on who does the work and the quality.

my experiences with sunroof instilation

I have had 2 sunroofs installed, one myself and two by a shop. the first was a 83 cutlas ciera that i payed 275 for and was told that they dont guarentee it wot leak unless you had one in there previousely. It leaked. the next one was a ford ltd police intercepror 1984, brought it to jr phillips glass company( a very large automotive glass replacement specialist who also would not gaurente the leakage. the third i installed myself on a 78 gt ranchero. this one did not leak but i had torn the one out of the ltd and noticed that none of these places do any type of modifications to the car for the drainage, which is understandable, this would be a timely modification, so when i put it in the ranchero after i cut the hole, i found the stock drainage that goes around the door and ran a rubber hose from there to the cut hole under the roof and out where the exterior roof meets the interior roof. next i took some small pvc pipeing and cut it in half and glued it in a square and layed it inbetween the roof panels and drilled a small hole in it. next i took a 1/8th inch wood spacer and put it underneath the pipeing on the side without the rubber hose going to it and glued it. then i drilled a hole in the opposite end a tinybit smaller than the rubber tube and install rubber tube in the hole and glue. and last i just put some metal sheeting and glue on the outside of the pipeing where it met the exterior roof to prevent the water from leaking in other directions inside the space, then spray some rust inhibitor and install the roof and controls and you wont have any leks guarenteed, Jasen
