Crappy chop, but I'd hit it.
I like oddball cars

i like how the front windshield slants, unlike pickups who have it just go straight..

Looks a lot like an Austrailian pick-up because of the car-like slant to the windsheild. I like odd-ball cars too. Would make an interesting shop truck!

slanted windshield = good aerodynamics
straight windshield = brick on wheels

that'd be kind of cool because there is a nissan skyline that has been chopped to be a pickup as well as a silvia i believe.

The silvia doesn't need to be chopped, In japan there was a short period (one year i think, guessing) that nissan made a silvia(S13) with a pick-up bed. They also made a Skyline Station wagon. Looking for pics, shouldn't take long.

I have to agree with Craig. As much as I love the Chevelle I have never really liked the El Camino that much. I do like the front of them though since they are basically a Chevelle . They are cool car/trucks but a little funny looking to me.

look at the spoiler, and the rear 'door' part behind a whindow, whoever did that at least couldve made the coloring more dark to make it look at least like a cartoon. i think someone used Flash for that, not photoshop. Props for the idea though, pickups like that are cool.

i'd convert it to rwd, throw the Nissan VH45DE for some good torque, setup some crazy rear suspension, turn it into a pick up, throw on a goose neck attachment, then haul both my maxima and the Z to the track with a car hauler trailer.

i've actually thought about doing something like that before

Never considered a pick-up... Interesting concept. I actually work for a company that has a full database of all CA & US vehicles, std, opts, and specs from 1992 on. I looked up a suitable RWD, 4x4 (automatic) or AWD wheelbase match for our max and guess what the best fit was........ A Nissan Std. Cab - an exact match at 104.3"!! So then I looked-up small block chevy engine mounts for that frame, and low and behold they're available. Just so happens a friend of mine has a Nissan parts truck that he's willing to give me the frame from. Only trouble is it's not a Std. Cab... :-(
An S10 (which I wanted to use) is something like 107.3 (if my memory serves correct - which it probably doesn't...). So it's possible to do the RWD, V8 conversion AND still have a Nissan chassis!! Not a big deal, but still cool.
So you could make a pick-up out of a Max, and you could use a Nissan frame to boot!
So somebody do it! I want to do some sort of major conversion, but who knows if I actually will or not???

Get used to seeing car-based pickups like the El Camino again - word is Chevy have been testing consumer reaction to the Holden Ute (Holden = Australian GM, Ute = Utility), seeing as the Pontiac GTO has sold reasonably well (built in Australia for the US / Middle East markets, RHD models known locally as the Holden Monaro).
Anyways, has all but been signed off for 2006, and is possibly to be called... ...El Camino!!!
BTW: Aussie utes (pickups) all have sloping rear cabs like the Camino - only bad conversions or photochopped piccies look like that...

Nope I agree...I like the rectangle lights. I like the round ones of the 71&2 also though. I think I like the rectangle ones a little better though.

There is a 72 (I think...didnt really look at the grille very good) up the road from me for sale that is really nice. Most classics you dont think would look good silver but man this thing looks really good. I like the beafy look of the 70-72 but my favorite of those is the 70 with the 4 headlights.
