PCV to Crankcase hose. what kind of lubricant?
When I was changing my fuel injectors (VG) and removing the vaccuum hoses to the upper air intake, the hoses were soooooo tight. 2 of them had practically turned into hard plastic, and cracked right off. The hose from the master cylinder to the upper intake collector was the worst. Would come off even when I sprayed it with WD-40 like crazy. When I tried turning it with a wrench w/towel, it started "peeling" and the outer layer was coming off.
Anyways I got them off, and just bought the PCV-to-Crankcase one today at my local nissan dealer. Special order and it was $22!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of lubricant should I put on the PCV valve, and on all the other stems, to make the hoses slip on easily, and come off easily too next time??? Would a little motor oil be ok?
I also cleaned my intake manifold, and upper and lower intake collector. They were dirty as hell. Now they look almost brand new.. And getting that old gasket out was a pain too. It wouldnt even come out with a razor, and I also used gasket remover (useless)
