INJECTOR Resistance
INJECTOR Resistance
My #5 injector is gone, so I pull a used fuel rail from the yard.(from a 91 SE w/140k miles) I tested the resistance on the injectors on the rail. All of them read in the 12s, except for the #1 which read 18.xx, and #5 which read 40.xx. Both of those injector terminals are corroded and one of them is white, and the other is green. I think if I sand it down I can get the corrosion off, but do those readings mean that those two injectors are gone?????

Well some bad news... I cleaned the two injectors that were giving me a resistance of 18.xx and 40.xx ohms, and they havent changed. Lesson to be learned, "Take your muiltimeter with you to the junkyard IF you are buying used injectors"
Anyways.. Currently in the max (VG) I have 6 blue dot injectors. 5 of them have a reading of 11.xx, and the other one is completely dead.
So should I just replace the dead one, with one of the four 12.xx ones from the junkyrad which will leave me with (5) 11.xx blue dots in the car & (1) 12.xx black dots? Or should I throw in all four 12.xx ones from the yard, which will leave me with (2) 11.xx blue dots, and (4) black dots in the car?????????????
Is a lower reading better or a higher reading??
