longest auto trans lasted?

i have 150k on my 1990 sohc auto trans gxe. and i have had the trans fluid changed about 20k ago, the thing shifts smooth and soft no slippage at all. anything i could look or listen for to figure out when it might go. i am the 2nd owner and put 75k miles on myself, people say i drive like a grandma and my previous owner put 75k on it in 10 years and was a college professor. is it possible for a auto to last up to 200K+ miles?

Talking miles or kilometers? - ie - you did 300K km yes?

Guess I have a way to go at only 235K km then ..........

I mean miles. I'm not too sure on the conversions but it may be 300k km.

My 93 just rolled over to 246,000 miles. I put on the last 46k in one year alone.

But of course it sometimes starts jerking me in first and 4th will slip completely. I've been doing about 75 or 80MPH and then it jsut goes and the engine dies. FUN!

sounds like fun, kinda like when your drunk and you accedently put it in reverse going 30 mph the only problem is getting off the road without hitting anything with no power stearing hah i have done that a few times...thanks for everyones posts hopefully mine will last me until i can afford another car, but i dont think im getting another auto no mater what car i pick, its time for a 5 speed

I just made 204.000 on my 94 SE and I had it since 107.000 and all I did was changed the fluid once, But my engine did stall at 75 80- once never knew why though

Mine only lasted till 172,000 km(approx 107,000 miles). As a conversion 600miles=1000km approx. I got a second hand one from a wrecking yard so hopefully it will last a while yet, Although, looking at previous threads about Auto trans it seems it doesnt matter if you change the fluid regularly, drive like a granny or a race driver, they just seem to die, usually at an inconvenient time.
