I have heard a lot of people here (Matt93GXE) and others use Bondo and Fiberglass to fabricate stuff like speaker pods, etc.

But isnt Bondo a fiberglass resin in itself?
What is the difference and pros and cons of using them.
Is there a difference between them?

Please help clarify this confusion. Thanks.

Bondo is just like putty that you can use with hardner to fix dent's on cars and make rough surfaces even and smooth, fiberglas is mostly used to fill holes and achieve certain curves and things like that. The acutal fiberglas is a cloth material that is used with fiberglas resin, the resin hardens the cloth once it is spread over an area. Most people place a regular cloth over the area that is to be the custom part and then spread fiberglass resin on it then they place the fiberglass cloth on and repeat the steps about 5 times min and more if they want a thicker stronger surface. When that's hard enoug they use bondo on top and sand that down nice and smooth so it loocks nice then they use a couple coats of primer and then paint the final product. You can skip the painting part if the enclosure is going to be hidden and not for display.

Thanks for explaining it so well.
I now know the difference.
