question on fuel...

Is there any difference if I fill up my car with fuel in the morning when it's cool outside and the car is not warmed up supposely to filling it up in the afternoon when its warm and the car is warmed up? BTW im getting roughly a little bit over 200 miles just a little over half a tank and I drive like a grandmother...lightly touching the gas pedal when accelerating, keeping it between 1.5-2 rpm and cruising as much as possible. Is 200 miles per 1/2 a tank bad? I say half because thats when I usually fill up my max up with fuel. I have an auto 91 se.

I does not matter what time of day you fill your car up. Your mpg seems to be ok.

200m per half tank is quite good mileage imo. btw, it doesn't matter what time of day you fill up your car.

Yes that is horrible gas mileage. Does your car run and idle good? If not your injectors might be the bad.

Perhaps I am dumb here, but 200miles per half tank = 400miles (640kilometers) per tank of 60 liters.

I reckon thats pretty much at best what you can expect of a 3 liter Maxima

I replaced my pasenger cv axle and I now have more of my power, and mileage. I get about 300 miles to the tank and I also get some of it back when I change my oil, align the wheels and, I'm happy to say, part of my commute incluse a 5 miles stretch of a 70 mph road, so doing 85 actually gets me better mileage.

And jsut to stir things up, I paid $1.75 a gallon for gas yesterday.

128 (i think) for a 90 SE, the GXE has the same engine so it should be the same (or very close).

In colder weather, gasoline is denser, so you get more when you fill up. Not sure if that answered any questions, but I thought I'd throw that nugget of information out there.

just because dude's guage says half does not mean that he gets 400 miles to the tank. maybe all he does is freeway driving..who knows?/

Fill your car up in the morning rather than at night. You get more for your money
