I was looking at the headlight assembly and noticed that the front glass lense could be taken off pretty easily because it is only held by two clasps on each side (as far as I know). Now what I am thinking is: could we put in a clear plastic or glass piece instead of our current thick headlight glass which has some kind of design(or whatever it's called) on it? I am sure that some company would be able to make one of those for our car. You know what I am talking about?
Any ideas?

if you put something thin instead of the stock assembly...it could be prone to melting....im not sure i follow what you are talking about

You don't want to do that. The reason the glass has that design in it is to focus the beam correctly. if you remove it, your headlights wont' work worth a damn and make visibility near zero at night.

Projector lamps and others with the clear lens are designed differently, with the correct geometry in the reflector, which gives the correct beam pattern without the glass lens.

Also, the headlight glass is high-strength poly-carbonate. You don't want to put some cheap *ss aftermarket glass in there. It will break when a bug hits it at 55 mph!

i had exactly the same idea, i konw what your saying. Itd basically be like the bmw lights without the two lights behind it. I dunno how you could do it, go to a high quality glass builder or something, but then youd have to stick something behind the lights to focus em so you can actually see with them.
