Maxima Running Real Bad

It's no telling what's causing this, but here goes. Got home last night, my 94 GXE (SOHC) running great. Start up this morning, it won't hardly go. Started ok, but then when the accelerator is depressed, it acts as if it wants to die, but it just doesn't do anything, like one big miss. Keeping the pedal depressed, it will sputter along badly. Recently had the timing belt replaced, but ran great afterwards. Can it be the fuel injectors? A control module? Fuel pump?

Thanks

I'd check the fuel pump.

does it only do this when the car is cold? or does it do this when the car is at normal operating temps?

It does it in normal temperatures. It may run smooth at in park at idle, but then in gear when you push the accelerator it get jerky. It seems like when certain cylinders try fire nothing happens, then the next cylinder fires and it jumps forward.

I had recently bought a 93 gxe and a week ago had the same problem. But mine would run decent, if I got up to a speed and only gave it enough gas to keep that speed. Since I figured something was causing certain cylinders to not fire under load. I began to check the most accessable and common items. i.e. plugs, wire(s), cap rotor, or injectors. So I began to inspect those items. Everything looked fine except the plugs and I didnt test the injectors. Also I checked and didnt recieve any codes to help me diagnose either. So I replaced the plugs and put a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank. started the car and voila it ran great. Anyway I think it was the plugs. Just an idea to look into.
