Hey there everybody! It's been a long time since i've posted!! I'm the guy whos 94 Max GXE was stolen, bose reciever taken out, then the car got recovered. Well the State Farm replaced my stereo...with a rebuilt one that didn't quite work...at all. Haha.

Well my real question is, i am getting a new receiver (alpine cda-9835) and need new front speakers. The ones im lookin' at are Diamond Audio M661 component speakers! I can get a good deal on them, and i've herad they aren't to shabby. The dimensions are: depth: 2-1/8 and diameter: 6-1/2 and the tweeter's diam is: 1 inch.

Will this fit in the door without to much modification to the door? That's the actual question. Haha. The page to find other stuff abotut he speakers is "http://www.diamondaudio.com/MobileAudio/index.cfm?page=Speakers" -> then the M6 menu then -> M661.

Thanks so much! Just let me know what ya think -- I am no where near an expert in either the 3rd gen. maxima or audio stuff. So I'm at a loss here as to find out how to see if it will fit. See ya later.

They will definitely fit in the doors. Check out Craigs Brace's "how to" page. You can find it in the 3rd gen faq stickies.

I have a alpine cda-9815 which is last years version of the new cda-9835. They are bacically the same deck. I've owned many decks and this one is by far the best I've used or seen.

Good luck with the system.

How much can you get those for?

Here is how I did mine:

James sells wood baffles that bolt to the door then you bolt the speaker to the baffle.

Eitherway they should fit without a problem. Also those speakers are really really nice. I would love to get a set but couldn't find a good deal on them so I just went with some Infinity References

Haha, I dunno. I'll give you my pity!!! The only problem is that i am worth a grand total of $3,000 and that is mostly going to college and food. I think i am going to use the diamond M391i's in the back. I need to raise money for that one perhaps....hmmm.

Simply utililzing the stock bose enclosure, I purchased the 4" driver/tweeter component set by Diamond Audio. It made all the difference in the world! Why go with a 6 1/2" set?

A 6 1/2" set has alot better mid-bass than a 4" set plus they typically can handle more power.

I would just buy the speaker pods from James. They are designed perfectly not to interfere with anything in the door. I have had mine for over a year and I am very happy with them.

Those pods from james look really nice (I saw them on your cardomain site). I also have an eclipse aluminum sub except mine is a 15" dvc. I really, really love those subs! They are so awesome!

When I get my mb quart 6 1/2" qsd's, I'll probably make some fiberglass door panels and mount them on the front of the panel with the mb quart grills.
