suspension decision!!!

well i had Eibachs before on another max with Tokicos and it rode great... except when driving over potholes of course... it looked like if my dash was going to come apart... anyhow, the intrax i am not familiar with. Hows are the intrax springs? Also, at the moment I have the worst set of springs out there in my opinion, the sprint springs.. man these blew out my rear inserts within a two month period...

well as always your insight is much appreciated..

none of the struts for our cars are actually made for lowering. koni's seem to handle it quite well by the kyb's and tokico's are basically slightly better than stock replacements, which is why that one blew with sprint springs.

eibach with koni's will give the best performance if that's what you're looking for

I'm happy with my Eibachs and KYBs. Hopefully the KYBs last a while.

I have Konis and eibachs, and the car looks great, but bumpy as ****. I'm not gonna get lowering springs ever again. Also, I got the Konis thinking they were gonna make the car so much smoother--didn't do anything, I don't notice any difference.

the supsension techniques are gonna make a bumpier ride than the eibachs, cause they drop the car more.

Ride height has NOTHING to do with ride quality. That's based on spring rate and strut damping rates.

Until you run out of suspension travel, or push the suspension so far out of its intended range that it binds.

see the konis are internally adjustable, not externally adjustable, cause i have the reds not the yellows. Therefore, the shop that installed them didn't know how to adjust them cause to adjust them, they would have had to have gone inside the strut itself.

I have the reds and adjusted mine. So if you don't know what the shop set them too, then I suggest asking.

I find it odd that you went out and bought the expensive Konis and don't know how to adjust them or informed the shop where to adjust them. Anyhoo;

this link is in the stickies somewhere also.

i did inform the shop, and they told me that they're internally adjustable and that they dind't know how to actually go inside the shock and adjust it. Would you happen to know at what setting the Koni Reds come in by default, right out of the box? Also, did I need to replace my boots too?

Well now they know! I put mine in the middle. New? Don't know as mine were used. How do I know if you should replace your boots? I'm about 3,000 miles away. I can't see your strut boots from here w/o my good glasses.

it is generally expressed in lbs per inch
in other words X amount of pounds will compress the spring 1 inch.

On these springs, it's not an issue. If you're talking about coilovers, sure. but not on eibach, sprint, tok, ST, etc.
