new max, new problems
well i found a new max, and new problems, the car still has the original bose sound system, but, when you turn it on it makes popping noises, it doesn't sound like the speakers are blown but i'm not sure what it could be. the other problem would be, well not sure if its a problem or if its suppose to be this way. When in first gear, you can kinda feel it shutter, maybe i wasn't giving it enough gas or something, i'll pay more attention to it to see if it was just me imagining things though

As far the Bose goes, you my friend have blown amps. Probably your best bet, short of replacing your whole sound system, is finding replacement amps from a parts car or someones old Bose they don't use anymore. They are easy to replace and you can find them for cheap.

You don't have to reroute all the speaker wires if you change the hu, just bypass the amps and wire in the new speakers. I did the amp fixing thing and the bose adapter thing and was much happier when I junked all the bose.

if your still keeping the bose head unit, its possible you could bypass the amps, but i dont think youd get any sound because i dont think the bose unit has an internal amplifier..
I suggest getting a nice cd player and getting some crappy $40 4" speakers in the front until you can afford aftermarket speakers all the way around
