I tried to become a maxima fanatic but it just didn't happen. I bought my 1990 Maxima GXE in MArch and sold it today. I took a -100 dollar loss on it and that was OK with me because I'm just not a car kinda guy, I guess. I'm going back to the SUV, (Mitsubishi Montero) so I can strap on the canoe and hit the rivers and streams. One thing is for certain though, If I ever do buy another car, it will be a Nissan Maxima. They are the sweetest sedans in the market. So long fellas.

true, the thing is a bus.. after driving my car and my moms bimmer, driving that thing is hilarious. you cant take turns more then like 15 or it screetches and feels like its gonna tip. i think it can toe up to like 5000 lbs though, its only a v6. 219 hp though i think.

Good on you. I personally couldn't give up my Max for a sport/ute. I like having a decent amount of handling and performance. I guess it all has to do with lifestyle and priorities.

I debated...

for a while too, if I wanted an SUV or a sedan. I ended up just getting both. I chose a 4WD '96 Pathfinder LE, and now have the Maxima too. I drive the Max every day, and my wife drives the SUV. We switch up every couple weeks for a couple days. It's kinda cool. As far as practicality, I love the Pathfinder. Only V6, about 180 HP, but pulls my 3500 lb boat with ease, has excellent factory tranny cooler too. I tried finding anyone else around here at .org who had one, and no one responded. I respect the Monteros too, nice ride!

About the tipping feeling...never had it. Maybe ya need better tires, or struts.

heh.. well the tipping feeling comes from general SUV driving. i mean it feels more unstable in a turn then my max for sure. Actually my friend has a 97 infinity qx4 (same as pathfinder) and he can take turns much better then the montero. It feels a little bit more stable. But then the monetero is a good 6 inches higher then the pathfinder or qx4, and its pretty nero so i think it is just a lil more unstable then other lower SUVs.. it also may need new struts, not sure. it has like 64k on it it, and it has that variable susp. thing, with hard soft and medium.
