1991 Maxima Brougham Edition

I found a 1991 Maxima Brougham Edition for sale. I know about the differences between the GXE and SE, I had never heard of this model. Can someone tell me what the Brougham Edition is all about?

I believe the Brougham was a luxury model just above the GXE. I was under the impression that this model was only sold in Canada however. My brother in-law has a 91 GXE Brougham. (we live North of the border).

Welcome.

I don't know what a Brougham is doing in NC, but it's a Canadian model that is pretty much like a loaded GXE. I haven't looked at them close enough to see if it always has such fancy extras as sonar suspension and HUD, but it might. Probably has auto climate control too.

HTH.

I don't think I have ever seen a Brougham with a spoiler... and I've seen several of them. The few non-SE cars I've seen with one probably just had it added on as an option by the dealer. Like I said, it's mostly just a fancy GXE.

+ heated mirrors (i think that was an option)
+ abs
+ digital dash

- sonar suspension
- spoiler

I'm assuming the "sonar suspension" is what the electronically adjustable suspension was on the 2G Maximas, but on a Canadian 3G instead...

I had a Brougham to. (hint:check the name.) It was a great little car but it was an autotragic so I dummped it for a 92 SE 5-speed. Mine had everything but Leather but when I was buying it there was another one there that did have leather. It was sold in the U.S. however for some reason it never really took off like it did up north so they are VERY limited south of the border. The model is the highest model of the years 89-91. If you are thinking about getting this car and you live in a cold climate ( anything lower than -15 degrees Celceus) than don't get it b/c the digital dashes have been known to fail in cold climates sometimes.
