loud clunk into drive

have fun, they can be a little frustrating but what isn't when you work on a car. The front right is pretty easy maybe a 4 hour job max, and the rear right is not to bad either. theres a lot of space to work with on the front and just enough on the back. i got mine from autozone and the holes were just a little off. I wish i knew about putting epoxy in the web area before i did mine.

well i now have all new mounts but it still clunks, nothing seemed to change.
I recently had the tranny rebuilt, and it didn't use to do this before that. maybe i should take it back?
But what else could it be?

how long ago did you had your auto tranny rebuilt? If its around 10,000 miles, I would say check your tranny again, since some org members have experience rebuilt tranny failure BELOW that mileage. Also to try is to put your e-brake on, put your car in neutral, and rev the engine to see if there is any noise out of the ordinary, remember to do so slowly and progressively. If there is no out of the ordinary noise, and your car only makes a loud clunk when shifting into drive, then I would make sure that I check the tranny first. One more question, when you drive, did you notice any loss of power (i.e. slow acceleration when compared to normal?)

the clunk..does it do it when the engine is cold? how about when it's warm? more or less?

it does it more when it's cold. but i took a look at it while my girlfriend put it into drive and it looks like the rubber is to soft or something because the pivet point moves alot when put into drive.
Maybe i need tro replace it again.

i found a temporary way around the clunking, but im gonna call the tranny place tommorrow. Anyhow, when i put it in reverse it doesn't clunk and then when i switch it over to neutral and let it roll a little foward and then put it into drive it goes smoothly into gear.
maybe it just need to be adjusted a little.
Maybe tranny resistor problem?

TPS was fine, a little corroded, but it had continuity. taking it back to the tranny place soon as i get my new tires and have time maybe monday. When you put it into drive the rpms are just about 1-1.1k then drop down to 800-700.
Is there some kind of adjustment on the tranny i can play with while i wait?
