HELP Front Passenger Door Stuck!!

I have a 1991 Nissan Maxima GXE auto. It seems as though the front passenger door is stuck. Yes, stuck. We went inside and outside and tried to open it and it will not open. I stuck the key in and the lock turned a little bit, but doesn't look like it moves to the full up position. The power lock/unlock button on the drivers side locks and unlocks all doors including this one. I went inside and pressed the lock down on this broken door (I think all the door locks should lock, shouldn't it? If so, this time it didn't). I went and pressed the lock up on this door and it would go all the way up, but still would not open the door. We have also tried tugging from inside and outside and no luck.

Also, the keypad outside this broken door doesn't seem to lock the doors or open the doors. The keypad from the drivers side works perfectly.

*HELP* I need to figure out how to get this door open. Is something blown or is the lock jammed inside?

Oh! Also when I manually pull the lock up or (was it down?), there is a one electrical click/tick noise coming from the power window button on this broken door. BTW the power window button works fine on this broken door.

This is a weird problem and I need all the help I can get.

Sorry for writing so much. I am trying to give as much info as possible. Thank you.

Sounds like something gave up in the mechanism that operates the latch/striker assy. Yuo may have to get into the door to get it open...
Which may involve removing the passenger seat and the inner door panel.
I'd see what a REPUTABLE body shop would charge, unless you are fairly mechanically inclined...

It's the latch. What's interesting is I had the latch go out when the door was open. It essentially froze in the closed position and the door would not close at all. I took a pencil and got it open and then used bungy cords to keep my door closed until I could fix it. The latch mechanism is about the size of, say apack of cigarettes -maybe a little larger. The problem is, there is all kinds of other junk in the way, so getting it in there is not easy. I had the dealership do it cause I did not want to end up screwing the entire door up. I don't know if its possible, but you may want to try and take the door panel off and see if you can reach into the door cavity and try and trip that latch. More than like the spring mechanism broke that is suppose to pull it back.

Ok, took it to a body shop and they said that the "linkage" fell out. Now how the heck will I get to there? I have to get the door panels open, but can't because I gotta have the door open to take off the other 2 screws by the dash.

Refer to a haynes manual for removal of door cover (check out the stereo section, same thing). Take off that plastic panel and investigate further. Once the panel is off, it's much easier when you see exactly what's doing.

Maybe Im missing something, but didn't he just say he couldn't take it off because the two screws are being blocked by the dash?
