VE Horsepower & Torque

Just curious to know what kind of power is being created from the VE crowd. I have hopes for my 93 SE, but wanted to know what others were getting in order to help me determine if this car is the right place to start a project or if I should go with a newer model. My goal is to have a reliable driver that has the power and handling to take on most any 4 door.

What is your HP & Torque?
How did you get it? Naturally Aspirated or not?
Is your car a reliable daily driver?
How many miles on engine?

A little better than factory stock specs for now. Aiming to put the go with some boost in the form of Eaton M90 Superchaged in the near future.

Stock engine is very peppy, beastish at the flick of the pedal. I have no problem taking mostly stock 4th gens, therefore hondas shouldnt be problem, just got to watch out for bimmers/some mercedes and the likes.

NA at the moment.

Paul, as you know you have 190hp / 190ft lbs torque stock at the flywheel. My last dyno was 175hp and 185ft lbs torque. That's about 210hp and 222 ft lbs torque if you use a 20% drive train loss. (manual tranny). That's with all na mods. intake/y pipe/catback and JWT ecu. I've sinced added a better catback and put on an UDP. I've also seen VE 5-sps dyno as high as 185hp but I forget their torque #. I don't race much but this car feels ALOT better than it was stock. And I've had the chance to drive a near stock maxima.

There are alot of fast 4 doors out now, S4, BMW 3 series, Subaru Legacy turbo, WRX, STI, EVO. But this car as it stands can still hold it's own to a lot of 4 door cars and still have plenty of room for 4. Unless you go with a 4-gen maxima, you would have to spend quite a bit more for the same fun/performance.

i have no idea but i have a y-pipe, UDP, ported heads and intake, CAI - and adding in the next month - fidanza flywheel, excedy stage one clutch, greddy exhaust, new rims wider tires (im sick of sawblades) and probably eliminating the converter and putting in a test pipe. and while in the process replacing the o2 sensor, knock sensor sub-harness and a few other sensors cause i want to... might even bypass the throttle body coolant.....im hopin for at least 200+ to the wheels

1992 maxima SE 5 speed.
lots of NA mods...lots and lots.
dyno as of maybe a month and a half ago: these are SAE corrected numbers
195HP@5800rpm
i know the torque was 190ftlb, but i dont remember what RPM..
raw numbers were 207HP, 203ftlb.
its reliable now that i've replaced the motor and transmission
6300 miles on the motor/tranny, estimated.

when I get new tires I'll dyno my max again. I have the wrong size and it kills some torque. maybe spring time.

Our motor has 10:1 compression, i thought it was already ok for runnning up to 100-150 shot of nitrous ?

For some reason I thought we had 11:1, but I cracked open the FSM and your right 10:1. And the VG is 9:1.

yes the vg loves Boost. Although with a built ve boost would be nice too. I will shoot a
125 shot to a stock motor all day long. Just keep an eye on fuel pressure.

it is ok as long as its tuned properly, and if i was going to continue using nitrous as my primary means of FI i would try a 200 shot but my solinoids are not rated past 175 so i would have to upgrade
