Hi:

My 92 gxe check engine light comes on for days and goes off and it had been doing that for over a month now. Yesterday, I had an emission test and passed it and the check engine light came on again just after the test! The car runs rough and I noticed that when the gas is in the half tank, the check engine lights goes off, and when I have full gas, it comes on again.

I am thinking to buy a OBD 1 to do some diagnostic on my own to see what could be the problem, and having problems finding OBD 1 online. Anybody knows what could be the problem? and, where could I find the cheapest OBD 1? Really appreciate it..Thanks alot in advance.

lots of possibilities here, more than often it's your O2 sensor that is causing this problem

in regards to OBD devices, I think you could rent for free of charge at your local autopart stores. try autozones, pepboys, etc...

you won't find a cheap pre-built OBD I scanner for the maxima.
You're better off just paying a shop $65 to pull the codes.
