gas and brake lines rusted through!!

while I was installing my under body neon kit I noticed that the lines that are on the drivers side are almost completly rusted away.

I know that some of these lines are gas lines. I looked and it looks like 2 are gas and 3 are brake lines. is this correct?

I know that there was a thread a while back about this same issue but I cant find it. how hard is it going to be to replace all the lines? if I do it I will order all the lines pre bent throug nissan. how much do you think that will run me for all the lines.

Thanks for you help

thanks for the links but none of them help me. I lines are rusted through near the B pillar on the drivers side. I was wanting to know how hard it is going to be to replace both gas and brake lines under the car. I was also wanting to know if anyone knew about what the price would be for the lines if I bought them pre-bent from nissan.

Thanks. Nathan

I believe I remember the thread you are referring to. IIRC a couple of members bought the line prebent from Nissan but had to do a lot of work to get them in the car because of their size(like take off the fuel tank?).

Over my 3 cars I have blown every line under there... both fuel lines on my first black maxima... and all 3 brake lines on my white maxima.. my mechanic did it for $60 a line... luckily they didn't all blow at once... they look like a beotch to change, especially with ABS... get a quote for the lines and also see what it will cost you to have somebody else do it ...

I completed this procedure about a month ago. It took me about a week. You DO NOT have to drop the tank and dont let anyone tell you that you have to. The easiest way is to drop the rear crossmember on the drivers side. You WILL have to drop the control arm. The area of the sharpest bends will be your biggest problem. It's not that difficult of a job. But, it's incredibly time consuming. I ordered the prebent lines from Nissan. I can't find the receipt but all 5 lines came to $161 including tax.

from my experience with these you should leave it be until they start leaking. once one of them begins to leak change them all (assuming they're all original lines). because if you go in there and try to replace only a section of the line, you're bound to fracture one of the other lines and then you've opened a gateway to h3ll. do it right the first time. replace all the lines from front to back so you don't have to continualy go in there and replace small sections.

I think it's 2 brake lines (one for each wheel) and 3 fuel lines. If not I'm in trouble. I am just about to start replacing mine and three lines connect to rubber hoses from the gas tank. One of the fuel lines is smaller than the other two fuel lines (return?) Anybody know for sure before I buy everything (I'm getting a roll and doing it myself). Either way, anybody know what the three lines are for? I could understand if they are brake one for each wheel but the third? Same with if they are fuel - one for feed, one for return, but the third?
