What is the best brand to get as far as the wires (VG30DE) for(slightly-performance or at least better than factory)? Also, is the only replacement rotor and distributor cap to go with from the factory? Also are Bosch platinums the plugs of choice?

errr...VG30DE? u drive a 300ZX NA?
the VG on the 3rd gens are VG30E.
stay with OEM for cap and rotor. for wires any quality wires will do...NGK, magnecore.
i recommend NGK plugs..but it's more personal pref at this point.

Dooooh... I meant VG30E. I wish I had a VG30DE! -- Anyway, thanks for the info. How much will the cap and rotor cost? Also, does NGK offer colored wires (like red)? Also, how much will they run?

Unless your wire set is damaged, or you're running a higher than standard compression engine, there isn't any real reason to replace the wires. What I do every year is take each wire ans spray it with silicone and wipe off any crud (this is to prevent the voltage from bleeding off). (Also make sure the connectors are clean and "snap" onto the plugs and cap.) I've had wire sets last over ten years on these and gen 2 engines. If you want to replace them the OEM set is good and fits perfectly. I have also seen "exact" replacement sets, made by Bosch, in Auto Zone. I've been using the basic Bosch platinum plugs for years. I would also stick with the OEM cap and rotor, because they are made to exact specifications.
