New Style Y-pipe from WSP, needs Modification before install

I just Installed my WSP pipe which came in last week, It's kinda a bear. All the bolts came off the manifolds"very lucky i was", but when i got to the converter oh boy those studs don't come out that easily i had to bend them over and take them out with vise grips, than after i got it installed the new style knuckle flexline flange was rubbing against the shifter rod so i didn't have 1st or second gear, Kinda pissed me right off so i put the car in 5th to make clearance and took a saw zall and cut a chunk out of the flange so i could get 1st and second with out a hangu-up, But other than that wow, this was a great mod to do im amazed what the y pipe header did for the flow i can tell by the horse power and the sound im really impressed and happy with it. SO FOR ANYONE THAT GET THE NEW STYLE AND YOU HAVE A MANUAL TRANNY YOU MIGHT WANT TO CUT A LIL BIT OF THAT FLANGE OUT WHILE YOU HAVE THE PIPE OFF THE CAR, OR YOU MIGHT RUN INTO THE SAME PROB, i DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE AUTO IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT MIGHT CATCH ON IT?

P.S = If any one want A pic of it just let me know in the forum i'll post one up, good luck

Its a million times better than the stock pipe, but as for comparing it to the orginal flexline Y pipe from WSP, i wouldn't know and i don't think theres a way to compare them unless I had 2 maxima's, and really testing them out. But i can tell a huge difference form the stock pipe which had a ripe in the flex line, and i think the new knuckle setup will last longer than the flex,

can you get some pics from under the car? I can't really see where it's rubbing with those pics..

I've got one on my car as well and had zero problems with it rubbing the shifter.

Yeah man it will help your car out alot with performance, but i would reccomend a muffler just so you can hear the power your maxima has, Hell you got a VE, its gonna sound awsome, I got my Y-pipe off Ebay for $215 with shipping but i just looked to see if they had anymore posted up and there wasn't any there, im guessing there in the process of making more so keep an Eye out on Ebay I think i got a good deal and there product i believe will last just by looking at the quality.

I have an auto with the superflo model y-pipe and it didn't have any probs, just vibrated on the strut bar below, fixed that with some heat wrap.

WSP sells them through ebay so ther will be more soon, and it's the same price as the regular one with the flexline. I dont know about you but i could here the power right away, as soon as you start it up it has a low grumble, and during acceleration you can really here it.

I have heard that a high flo cat and performance catbacks don't help as much as a wsp y-pipe, so you will definately feel the diff. Mufflers wont really help with performance either, they just sound cool. I am told a cai combined with the wsp y-pipe will help you more , but get the wsp y-pipe first.
