HELP!!! Broke parking brake tightening nut

Hey guys, my parking brake was very loose. I had to pull it all the way up to make it work. The tension would start after 3-5 clicks, and even with it all the way up, the car could still move a bit in drive (auto tranny). And my rear brakes are good.
So I tightened the adjusting nut, and the tension increased a bit, but not like other cars. I kept on turning the 10mm nut, and the thing snapped off, along with the stem/stud thingy. So now I am really pissed off, feel stupid, and have no parking brake at all.
What do I need to change. I removed the two 12mm bolts, and the handle assembly came out, and it is connected to some cable that I suppose goes under the car. So is that what I need to replace??? the whole handle assembly, along with the cable?? And where/how do I disconnect the cable??

Why were you even messing with your parking break

you dont put the break on and then put the car on drive (D) to see if it works, the engine horse power will still move the car no matter how high up you pull the e-break.

I live on a hill with an auto so I use my parking brake everyday so lighten up guys...what you need is the front cable assembly and this is a dealer only part. Your gonna have to drop the exhaust to replace it..Good luck
