The other day when I was removing my axle, it was really stuck so I yanked hard and pulled the inner CV joint apart. Will it be OK if I repack it and replace the boot, or did I cause damage to the joint its self? One or two of the ***** fell out, the rest are still in place.

 

put yours ***** back in after you've cleaned them and made sure they didn't get scratched or nicked

Went to Carquest, got a CV boot kit, and put it back together. My ***** looked like they've never been used so I put them back in the cage.
