Theres an open road of thousands of miles ahead, and no cars around in some deserted desert highway and a full tank of gas. The car is in good condition. Would I be able to stay at top speed the whole time without damaging the engine as long as I don't go past the red line? My friend told me my Max would just break down and die if I took it on a high speed journey. Never really thought about how an engine would act working at 6,000 RPM for an hour.

 

why don't you just put in in neutral and hold the throttle down at the redline for an hour and find out?
