compatibility between accessories

I have a '91 Maxima SE which i recently bought a couple months ago and have been fixing up. One of the things that needs fixing is the stock bose cd player/radio. It's pretty much shot and I just plan on buying a deck to replace it with. The problem is that if I do that, it would only take up one of the spots on the console. I was wondering if I could just get a cover to put over the empty space or get something else to go there, like cup holders since my car doesn't have any . I found cup holders on ebay which came out of a '92 Maxima and I was just wondering if those would fit in a '91. If not, is there anywhere I could get some that would, or should I just get a cover to place over the empty spot? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

first - open the glovebox and you'll see that your car DOES have cupholders and yes, they suck

yes, the cupholder from a 92 will fit right in. There are a lot of options for that space. It's a standard DIN sized hole which is very common in cars so there are a lot of things that would fit - pockets, cupholders, coin trays, etc. The most popular ones seems to be the Ford Taurus/ Saab cupholder. Look on ebay for that. I think you have to do a little bit of drilling to make it mount but it's pretty simple from what I've heard.
