What kind of turbo setup are you running to get 70 ft/lbs? That's a big gain.

Matt93se broke his crossmember (maybe twice?) before too. I think he's welded it up now and beefed it up a little.

stock Z's have somewhere around 230 ft. lb. of torque if memory serves me correctly. only being 20 ft. lb. more would be easily attainable having 9:1 compression, a better turbo, better intake manifold, and higher flowing exhaust. i personally wouldn't be surprised if it were a bit higher.

at 15% drivetrain loss (probably a bit low) i'm pushing 250 ft. lb. at the flywheel and i know his car is faster than mine at the moment. in the end the only way to find out would be dyno....

awesome

as far as I knew, he had a VG (~180 ftlbs) that he put a turbo on
his cardomain pics show that too

pretty clean looking setup (cleaner setup than other turbo guys in this thread - but if you're pushing 250 ftlbs then I'm definitely jealous no matter how it looks).

hey now... my setup is clean... in a redneck sort of way.

on the stock Z thing i was comparing a smaller turbo, factory intake and exhaust, crappy intake manifold, and 8.3:1 compression to what his setup would be.

I beefed up mine when I did my clutch because I didn't want to have to deal with it later.

OK mines went on me. Any idea if the cross member is the same for ve and vg? Where can i get a second one? I was driving and hit a pot hole and next thing my shifter is loose. I got it to the mechanic and got it on the lift, the member was about to brake completely on the front engine mount because it rotted away Help.

Junkyard? www.car-part.com? Dealer? Org classifieds? C'mon man, its just like any other Maxima part. Can the mechanic temporarily reinforce it while you search for a replacement?

It's the beam that goes from near the bumper to the back of the engine bay, under the engine. It supports the engine.

why buy an engine mount when you can fill it with polyurathane or similar? next time I have my engine out I am.

does anybody make stronger motor mounts and crossmembers for the 3rd gen? if matt (blehmco) found out a way to make them, that would be a worthwhile investment for my tax refund... along with his grounding kit... and a few other things.

fill your stock mounts with poly (or contact LordRandall about doing them for you), and I'll reinforce the crossmembers for $100 each, shipping included.
