ACC wanna-be ON

Ok, I've got this wierd electrical problem that's been happening lately...it all started one night when I was sitting in a parking lot with the key in the ACC position (the first one it can be in) and usually it just has the cd player on and the clock..well I was sittin there and the idiot lights in the cluster started flashing randomly and the chime was ringing and it really kinda scared me, and ever since, the ACC has been acting like the key is in the ON position (seatbelts go back and forth, idiot lights are on, ON position actions) and I'm not sure why, thinking maybe something got wet or another, and some days it stopped (it would be acting normal in the ACC position) but then after a couple seconds it would start flashing and chiming again..anyone? Craig? I'm stumped

if you have remote starter, check that wiring first
besides that, just inspect the ignition wiring starting right under the steering column and all the way back up to the ignition switch.
Unplug the large 6 position connector under the steering column and then test continuity with the key in different positions (ACC, ON, START) and see if it's working like it should.
