hey guys whats up. ive been trying to find away to do qicker launches from standstill. i used to just put the power mode on and stomp on her. now ive tried putting her in first up until 4-5000 rpms shifting up to 2nd, goin up to 4 and then shifting into drive. it feels alot quicker then just stomping on her in drive. is this dangerous? does anyone have any suggestions? and if this is ok does it feel quicker because im shifting in more of the power band? let me know i just read about that guy revving till 2000 with the e-brake on so im just curious whats the fastest and safest

Nothing is safe with an auto

I destroyed mine autocrossing launching in low 2 and shifting it like a manual. Try anything you want as long as you have $2K lying around for the inevitable rebuild. The only true safe thing to do is to get a 5 speed. Been there, broke that.

manually shifting is useless...you are doing more harm then good. you are going to wear your auto ouch much quicker...

i have tested manually shifting at the track and have yieled nothing...my times were actually slower manually shifting than just stomping on it...you feel like you are going faster but you're not..
