Mysterious hose

i've been having problems with my car shifting and i know its not the transmission. the only conclusion i've came up with is its a vaccum leak. All of this stemmed from a manifold gasket job....anyway, i noticed a hose near the MAF that is not connected to anything.....is it suppose to have a connection....it looks like an upside down J and it is clipped to the housing right before the throttle housing!!

dont worry about that, it's a tranny breather hose and not supposed to be hooked to anything else

its crazy cause before i tried to do the gasket job, my car was running fine...i had to rush putting everything back together and ever since then, my car has been running the way it is now! it might be the tranny....if it is, looks like i'll be looking for a 5 speed!!

well,
it's quite possible that you didn't reconnect the vaccum hoses to their proper location. imo that's quite easy to do if you're just slightly distracted while putting the intake plenum back together.
