Easy...

Struts: to walk with a proud gait OR to walk with a pompous and affected air

Shocks: to strike with surprise, terror, horror, or disgust

Shock and struts don't lower the car, changing springs does that. Springs are a common topic here, and you should be able to find plenty of threads. Basically, there are three popular springs used on our Maximas.

Eibach 1.2" drop
Suspension Techniques 1.5" drop
Intrax 1.8-2.0" drop

since nobody is answering the poor guy's question, I think I will. Shocks are where the back two tires are and struts are in the front. They will improve handling upon replacement, and the drop can be done with springs, preferrably eibachs.

shock and strut are technically the same thing but different in setup configuration. our car has struts. struts setup term are referred to those setups that has spring sitting right over shock directly. whereas shock setup term are referred to those setups that has spring standing adjacent to shock side by side separately.
