Dual exhaust 92se

How hard would it be, if it's possible, to convert the 92 maximas exhaust to a true dual exhaust system?...just an idea i had. if it can be done, has anyone here seen or heard of it?

Very hard. People have had dual-muffler setups made for their 3rd gens, but true duals would be extremely difficult and impractical, as they would be on any FWD V6 car.

It's been asked many times and there are actually a few 3rd/4th gen maximas with dual exhaust, not true dual exhaust though.

just out of curiosity, what is the "true" dual exhaust setup as opposed of the......"not so true setup" I guess you could call it?

don't understand how such an application would be impractical....but ok! I think its very possible to do it, but i imagine alot of fabricating is involved.

The common thinking is to try to run another pipe on the other side of the car where of course there is no room. What about side by side a half inch apart in the same channel the single pipe runs now?? Anyone tried it that way?

ummm, don't "impractical" and "alot of fabrication" go hand-in-hand??

Bending the pipes, 2 sets of pipes, 2 cats, 2 mufflers, how to hang the whole thing...all that isn't impractical?

well, yes, fabrication, etc. would make it a little difficult...but, IMO my dad had a 94 camaro with single exhaust and he went dual because he was losing some power to the left and right side of the exhaust fighting to get out....not much of a loss, but its still a loss. BTW, im not trying to start any arguments or anything just throwing a suggestion out there

just kidding.....

well, there would be no point in even wasting the money to fabricate it. youd rather just get bigger diameter piping unless you only want the 2 mufflers to look cool..in that case, just tape some muffler tips to the back of your car and you got it

they dont make power where a 4 door family sedan needs it, nor at the noise levels driving on the streets require.

And 3" tubes will not make any power, they will do jack.

I was always thinking about an exhaust set-up, something like this...

Too bad, from what I hear, there isn't any point except for looks. Easier to just put one single big one, and save yourself some weight.

hey in general all the 'muscle car' tips look the same with the angle cut

but yea thats photoshopped, i actually copied the stock exhaust tip and put it on the other side

antenna dont work anymore, so i just leave it like 6 inches up

To open one part of an entity is useless. All parts got have 'equal flow', whatever that means: Intake tubing, TB, intake manifold, heads, exhaust manifold, exhausts.

I think heres a good link...Edit: err not of that issue [wrong link]. Anyways good on intercooler tuning:
