KYB GR2 Struts on a 3rd gen

Has anyone had any experience with these struts KYB GR2
89-94 #235051, #235052, (2)#365079 like fitment or cutting , drilling to put them in?

Alot of people have used them on our 3rd gens because they are pretty much the only option other than OEM. Unless you have electronically adjustable suspension, these will be fine. No drilling/cutting. Might need to replace mounts and boots.

True. I meant 'pretty much' because the GR2's are the closest to stock replacement. They are also about $100 cheaper per set compared to Tokico blues. Don't even get me started with Koni. Save your money for other mods unless you are going auto x-ing.

Believe it or not, I have had my KYBs on with Intrax springs for 3+ years, they still feel like the day I put them on.

Well, its definately not comfortable. It is pretty stiff, when I go over bumps it goes down fast and comes up hard.

The GR2's are as close as you can get to stock. Harsher? Yes. But not as harsh as Tokico. Whereas Tokico (from what I understand) are harsher still, but is a more performance oriented shock than the KYB's.

i have gr2's and ebiach springs. love the ride. slight drop, pretty stiff, but no more see-saw effect, like when my rear struts were blown. had to replace front mounts and all boots. in total was like $1000 for all parts and shop to install

I thought if they were worn they will bounce all over the place? and not rebound fast.

They have been like this since I installed them, I have not noticed a change.

ehhhhhh...give me your body kit.

I have GR-2s with stock GXE springs. The ride is definitely more stiff, but the sailboat feeling when driving on the freeway is gone. I am satifsied, they were only around $200, and I installed them myself. I suggest that you change ALL the dustboots, I didnt and will prolly be doing that later on.
How do you know when the strut mount is bad???

OK I think I just misinterpreted your post. when you said it went down fast and up fast that sounded to me like it didnt dampen at all which would mean blown. If you havent noticed a change then I misinterpreted or you misexplained lol.

No you cant have my kit...I like it too much

Thanks for your opinons I 'm probably going to get the KYB GR2 and the BG suspension springs or keep stock springs. How much are dust boots? I will post pics when I install them should be sometime over the next week.

my kybs on sprints are a lil brutal, but they work great at higher speeds when it really counts.

I'm with Donald on this one. My GR-2's and ST springs rebound really fast! The ride is pretty harsh, but you get used to it after a while. The GR-2's aren't really made to handle that big of a drop, but oh well? lol
