Temp Sensor Problem?

Temp Sensor Problem?
It looks like, as I read, that I have the common temp gauge problem. Because I don't know my way around this engine compartment, can anyone tell me if the wires for the temp sensor are off the thermostat housing, or somewhere else? What do I need to be looking for, and where?

FYI- My Gauge will go from normal readings to no reading at all. Usually when it happens it won't go back to showing me a reading.

No love on the autozone website. And since it's a VE it doesn't appear to be in the same location, but I've been known to be noobish enough to make mistakes. So where is the temp sensor located?
