few brake questions
#1
first, i replaced my rear brake shoes today(i have drums). when i put the passenger side drum on after the new shoes when on, the drum went on very easily. this didnt happen on the drivers side. it is impossible to get back on. the adjuster is set all the way closed, so the shoes are as close as they can be together. is there anything else i can try? i was hitting it with a rubber mallet and got the drum about 3/4 of the way back on, but it was very tight against the shoes, so i just took it back off.
second, since i hate working on these damn drums i am deffinitly going to convert to disk sometime this summer. i was wondering, how come you need to get the SE rear strut. why cant you just use the strut that is on ther and remove all brake parts including that back plate. shouldnt the disks just bolt onto the 4 bolt holes that are in the strut?
