Go here and read the whole thing for the future. It's in the stickies
And it's here: http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/UiB...Parameters=004
A = temp guage sensor
B = temp sensor for the ecu CHTS

Yes.

It has specific resistance values for specific temps.

www.autozone.com tell what those are.

no
what does it do
Um it tells the ecu the coolant temp in the cylinder head. Hence the name.

and how does it affect the performance of my car?
You need to read about how modern automotive electronic control units work. Google or How stuff works.com is good

What should i do? help please
Well I'd take the advice given in the last thread you made about this. Exactly what are the choices?? Replace it or ignore it. Common sense would dictate the replacement. What are your thoughts on this?

it senses when your car has warmed up so that it can go into closed loop mode and reduce fuel consumption.

ok thankyou im sorry i hate all these computers i cant wait untill i get my 240z. Not very electronics to screw with my head. So please dont talk to me like im a moron i know the resistance values and everything just tell me if ignoring it will worsen my gas mileage, hurt my engine, etc. i thought this place was used for helping out others with their knowledge instead of just telling where you can go. I know you can use google i just thought i would ask here first cuz i usually have good results and help.

umm WTF?
you know what the CHTS is and how it works, but you don't know if it will hurt your car to be unhooked? think about it a while and you tell us just what might happen since you know how it works and why its there.

I'll give you a hint. ECU runs at full rich, both radiator fans un on high, you burn out the cat from the extra fuel, and end up FUBARing lots of other parts because you didn't want to replace a $15 sensor.

And the 240 is easier to work on? Riiiiight.
can I come by and watch the first time you try to tune dual carbs or chase down a vacuum leak, or troubleshoot a problem on that 35 year old car? Until you've rebuilt a few of those carbs and synch'd them back up, don't say they're easy to work on. Hell, most mechanics refuse to touch them for that specific reason.

No not really. Unless you are lumping yourself with the numerous other guys that flat out refuse to do even the most simple research. I mean cripes, it couldn't have been easier if I was standing right next to you.

We help those that really do need help. If they are totally lost fine. We give them a break. But when you ask the same question 2xs before and ignore other's clear advice...........

When your first few posts are "how to I rebuild a VE30DE for performance" and the next post is "what is a clyinder head temp sensor and what does it do?", that raises some eyebrows as to your level of common sense.

I cannot believe you just got mad at someone that just tried to help you. Enjoy your stay and your maxima. I hope some others are willing to help you out. I will elect to bow out of responding to your future researchless questions.
