Im trying to pinpoint the cause for why my Max is being lazy.
At times its got lots of power, and then most of the time its a wimp.

Im not gonna bore you guys with what ive done, so Ill just ask things one post at time.

VOLTAGE WHEN CAR IS RUNNING ON MY MAX IS 13.7V AT START UP, and about 5mins later it drops to 13.1-13.3V.

Now, I find that pretty low for a car that has all power options, also, I would expect voltage to be the same at all times whether its cold or hot(with all accessories off)

My readings are taken when lights, A/C, stereo OFF.
WHEN I have lights and A/C on, it sometimes drops to 12.9 volts.

What do any of you guys get for readings on your MAxipads.

Thanks in advance.

When cold, doesn't it idle a bit higher? It should. When warmed up, idle drops= voltage drops. Alt. output shouldn't peak till around 5k rpm, then you should see it doing well over 14 volts(don't know exactly what it should be). The VG alty's peak at 84 amps/ VE peak 91 amps at 5k. Do you have an intake filter? Maybe you're just sucking in warmer air at times reducing power/ performance? First thing that comes to mind.

Ive changed the alternator last year when it gave up on me last summer, I had never checked the Running voltage on the Maxi when it had the original alternator.
but since the new alternator, The voltage has never been higher than 13.7v.
I ve been noticing than it runs strong when voltage is 13.5 and +, but when its lower, it really lacks power.
maybe its just coincidence.

I have a K&N drop in filter with my own cold air intake, so there is never any warm air entering the TB.

If anyone with a VE could get my a voltage reading on their car, I would really appreciate.
I dont follow the FSM to the T. I cant remember what my mechanics FSM says(former Nissan mechanic with all the Nissan FSMs)
So Id just like to cross reference my Max with others.

Thanks again

my GXE alternator puts out about the same voltage.. mine is low-mid 13s at idle, and goes up to about 14.5 at 3000rpm and higher.
this is a rebuilt alternator, but still.. the voltage you're seeing is pretty typical.
